May Report

May has seen the fish really get on the munch leading up to spawning. There have been some awesome catches.

  • Starting with James Hayes who had 10
    fish with 4 twenties best 27lb10oz.

  • Mark Kettletey with 8 fish including 6 twenties to 26lb 10oz.

  • Nicky Webb with 25 fish’ in 3 nights several twenties to 29lb.

  • Ricky Mitchell catches on almost every day trip with several twenties to 29lb.

  • Steven Hayes had 5 fish to 29lb 14oz.

  • New member Paul Mcarthy has caught
    from the off with several twenties best a brace of 24lbers.

  • Richard Rush had mirrors of 28lb and 29lb 8oz on an overnighter.

  • Perry Harris had a hectic overnight session with ten fish to 30lb 4oz (another new 30lb+).

  • Robbie Reilly had 12 fish to 23lb on
    an overnighter.

  • Cliff Burgess has banked his usual
    stack of twenties to 27lb 12oz.

  • Drew Fuller had 10 fish in 48hrs to 26lb.

  • Nicky Webb returned to take a further 7 twenties in a weekend.

Many of the fish are 5lb up on last year’s spring weights. The contractor is making good headway with the crayfish; members will notice that we have roped of the areas being trapped. Please don’t be tempted
to cast near them.

The recent BCAC match saw 101 carp
caught in 48hrs (roughly two carp an hour) with the winning weight well over 400lb. There was a new 30 caught at 32lb
12oz this particular fish was 26lb the same time last year.
