Berners Hall Baitboat Guidelines

Many anglers realise the advantages of using a bait boat. All types of bait items and presentations can be created with a little thought and catch rates can increase dramatically.

The following guidelines are to ensure every boat user gets maximum benefit from their use without spoiling the enjoyment of other users or anglers who do not choose to use one.

  1. As a general rule, do not use bait boats past the centre of the lake.
  2. If there are anglers opposite you, only use the boat as far as you can cast a marker float (which is quite far with thin braids) as it can be difficult to judge distance across water.
  3. If you discover another angler has the same transmitter frequency as you, please ensure their boat is off the water before boating out your own and vice-versa.
  4. If there are few other anglers present you can cover more area but remember to reposition your baits if another angler chooses to fish nearby.
